Best practice for many ICAEW-registered probate firms includes publishing details of the deceased’s estate in The Gazette and/or local newspapers. The Gazette has reached out to ICAEW for help to test its new website to ensure it meets the needs of practitioners.
HMCTS Probate Service User Group update

Consumer hub to support ICAEW probate firms and their clients

Visit our refreshed webpage for consumers of probate services, including: how Chartered Accountants can help, a glossary of legal terms, guides for beneficiaries and executors, and links to bereavement support and government sites. ICAEW will promote the hub to raise awareness of this service on behalf of firms, and firms are encouraged to use it as a resource.
2024 Legal Services Regulatory update

ICAEW's Quality Assurance Department took listeners through the recent common issues we are seeing on quality assurance monitoring reviews. We also heard from the Chair of the ICAEW Legal Services Committee, Miranda Winram, on the role of the committee and the committee's perspective on some of these common issues. The webinar concluded with a look at the current regulatory landscape, presented by the Regulatory Policy team.

2025 probate fees consultation

Recognising inflationary pressures and to continue to deliver our ongoing programme of activity to fulfil these objectives and those of the Legal Services Act, we propose no change to 2025 probate registration fees for firms with 5 or fewer principals, and a 3% increase for all other firms.
